Stylish hotel managed by Accor

The Grand Sukhumvit Hotel is located in a quiet residential street and yet it is only a short walk from Nana BTS Sky Train and a number of bars and restaurants. The Grand Sukhumvit is a stylish and modern hotel with a good reputation. Although it is near the ‘red light’ area it is not a hotel that caters to the ‘pleasure’ market.

On their website The Grand Sukhumvit Hotel gives itself 5 stars. We think that for the facilities and amenities that this hotel provides, 4 stars is a more accurate description. The hotel is managed by Accor. For those unfamiliar with Accor it is an international company with 45 years experience in the hospitality industry. It is the leading hotel operator in Europe and has hotels around the world. It is thus no great surprise that the Grand Sukhumvit Hotel is renowned for its professional and friendly customer service. Lots of reviews make mention of how well run the hotel is, how friendly the staff are and how clean the rooms are. The hotel ranks as the 120th best hotel in Bangkok according to Trip Advisor.

The hotel is divided into 2 towers. It is a tall and imposing building with 36 floors. In total there are 386 rooms. One, two and three bedroom apartments are available. All the rooms have modern furnishings. They all feature an LCD TV, a writing desk, a great view of Bangkok, broadband internet (not free) and a spacious bathroom. All the suites feature a separate kitchen and living room.

The Grand Sukhumvit has a swimming pool, a gym, a conference room, a spa / sauna, a restaurant, 3 bars and a bakery. The hotel also has a limousine service, a babysitting service, 24 hour room service, a doctor on call and translation services. In short the hotel can cater for virtually all your needs.

The Café de Nimes Restaurant is open from 6am to 10pm. It has a large menu that features Mediterranean and Asian dishes. It also has a tasty buffet on offer for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

There is a pool bar and lobby bar. In the evening try Le Mirage Humidor Bar. It is a cozy bar with seating for 20. It serves beers, cocktails and spirits as well as light snacks. The bar also features a large TV for those who want to see live sports.

There are three types of ‘hotel’ rooms – Bronze (28sqm), Silver (36 sqm) and Gold (48 sqm). The suites come in 5 different types – Platinum (1 room, 54 sqm), Diamond (1 room, 72 sqm), Presidential (2 rooms, 116 sqm), Chairman (3 rooms, 190 sqm), and Royal (2 bedrooms, 190 sqm).
